Gresvig decides to upgrade Digitrade
Gresvig Division Sport with their chain concepts G-Sport, Intersport and Sportshuset has ordered an upgrade to Digitrade version 4.5, plus additional 2 new modules. The implementation of the new version will be carried out during March and July 2010. Digitrade is used within the 3 chain administrations and at app. 350 shops throughout Norway.
Digitrade version 3.2 was implemented at Gresvig already in 2003. No upgrade has been done since and a lot of functional adjustments and add-ons have been added over the years.
The new upgrade project will take Gresvig from a solution based on old technology (C and CGI) with a lot of adjustments and add-ons, to a solution based on modern technology (Java, Websphere and Ajax). The new solution will be without adjustments and only 2 Gresvig specific add-ons outside standard solution. At the same time Gresvig will have a more open solution regarding integration. This will be beneficial when they decide to do the planned switch to new ERP solution.
Despite the obvious benefits Gresvig gain from the upgrade, described above, the main motivation was to cash in on Digitrade 4.5s ability to sell more. A careful ROI calculation showed that the upgrade project would have a payback time of 6 months.
